Onsite Facilities & Activities

The shower block and toilet facility is discreetly located at one end of the touring park.
The heated facilities have free showers, hand and hair dryers and there is also a family room, with ramp access for the less able. The laundry, dishwashing and chemical waste point are all conveniently situated at the shower block too.
There is a childrens play area, and space for a kick-about with goal posts. We have the ‘ Bookery’ (where you can help yourself to free tea and coffee) which is filled with local information and lots of books to borrow if you have forgotten your favourite paperback, there are games and jigsaw puzzles too!

Accommodation

For your convenience our fully serviced touring pitches each have a concrete pad, electric hook up, a Digital T.V. connection, drinking water and grey waste drainage.
A few metres stroll leads you to our stretch of the river Severn, where you can sit and watch the view and wildlife or take advantage of the free fishing offered on park.
If you would like to venture further up or downstream we can organise a Permit for you at Reception.

Local Area

Smithy Park is the perfect place from which to explore beautiful Mid Wales, there are reservoirs, castles and historic towns nearby. The coast is just an hours drive away, and will take you through the scenic Cambrian Hills to Aberystwyth, with its shops, cafés, pier, cliff railway and Arts Centre, you will be spoilt for choice.
Local attractions include Powis Castle & Gardens, the Hall at Abbey-Cwm-Hir and the Gregynog Estate, Wales newest Natural Nature Reserve, with its acres of nature trails and walks, impossible to see all in a day!
The bustling market towns of Machynnleth, Welshpool and Llanidloes are not far away, and the pretty town of Montgomery has a lovely tearoom and Deli/café in which to sit with a pot of tea, home-made scones or a delicious lunches and watch life go on in the centuries old town square.
Perhaps you would like to leave the car behind for a while and take a walk or bicycle ride along the Montgomery canal and Severn way, or a trip on the narrow gauge railway form Welshpool to Llanfair Caereinion, sit back and let someone else drive, the county of Powys is your playground!
