Le Port De Limeuil Reviews

Le Port De Limeuil Holiday Park

Le Port De Limeuil is a pretty park that nestles in between the Dordogne and Vezere river valleys. The surrounding countryside is lush and very pretty and makes for a perfect location for a family looking for a quiet holiday. The park is a small and cosy with just 100 pitches making for a very peaceful holiday. Despite being small the park has all the facilities you’d expect including a reception (Yes, English is spoken), a launderette and is somewhere they’ll also welcome your dog.

The site is open for business between 19th May and 8th September and there are plenty of accommodation choices for you to consider.

There are two types of tents available. Standard tents have two bedrooms and a kitchen/living space. There is also patio furniture and a barbecue which makes for perfect al fresco dining. This summer the tents will have new interior and exterior canvasses that will allow you to unzip the walls of your tent during the day. If you prefer your time under canvas to be a bit more glam then you can book a safari tent. They look like those African safari (well, they would do wouldn’t they) tents, have two bedrooms with similar kitchen arrangements but the best thing about these tents is the living space. It’s got hardwood flooring throughout and has electricity supplied to the tent and your patio furniture is also hardwood.

The chalets are either two or three bedroomed with between 25m2 and 32m2 floor space and private showers and loos. The Kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm and there is plenty of comfortable living space with a further two sofa beds if you need them. Outside there is a set of patio furniture and a barbecue and you can even book a chalet with patio furniture of you want to,

Facilities & Activities at Le Port De Limeuil

There are two pools and a third paddling pool for toddlers at Le Port De Limeuil. There is also a sun terrace with ample sun beds for kicking back and a spa with a whirlpool. There’s a good selection of sports activities on site that includes the balls, volley, basket and footie. There is a play area for the children and the site has a small bar and takeaway which is perfect of you don’t fancy self catering one night. You can hire bicycles which is a great way of getting out and about and seeing the lovely countryside.

Being located close to two rivers is a real bonus. There is even a river beach which is great for the kids to go paddling on and greater still for you to relax in lovely sun. Of course, canoeing on the river is a real must. There are plenty of small towns worth visiting but particularly special is Sarlet a medieval town less than 30 miles away that has is very pretty, has a great market and of course cafes and restaurants by the ton!

We spent 14 days here in June 2011 and had a great time. The pitches are well shaded and the sanitary of the showers is excellent and to my husbands relief everybody spoke English.

Our twin girls who were 11 at the time pretty much had the freedom of the site (except the river) it is very safe and secure. It was warm the whole two weeks, some days it was very hot so the pool and river were very welcome.

The girls made lots of new friends as did I, we hope to go back again not this year but next.
