Le Parc De Fierbois Reviews

Le Parc De Fierbois Holiday Park

If you’re looking for a family holiday with idyllic surroundings and plenty to keep you occupied then look no further than Le Parc De Fierbois. Set in green woodlands on the shore of a beautiful lake, close to the village of St Catherine de Fierbois in the Loire valley this site is a winner for families looking for an active holiday. The park is built around a central square where most of the amenities are situated. Amenities include a friendly reception, laundry and minimarket for all your shopping needs.

There are 420 pitches at Le Parc De Fierbois and they are available between 14th May and 6th Spetember. Your accommodation will be in a three bedroomed chalet so there’s plenty of space for everyone. Each chalet has one double bedroom and two twins with space for a further two sofa beds in the living area and also has a private shower and loo, a separate kitchen and living area. The kitchen has all your kitchen bits and bobs from home, fridge-freezer, grill, hob, over, microwave and even a sink for washing up (sorry Dad – over to you). There is a set of patio furniture and a barbecue which makes for perfect summer meals and there is the chance to book a chalet with decking if you want to.

Facilities & Activities at Le Parc De Fierbois

There’s plenty to do at Le Parc de Fierbois and much of that is focussed on keeping the kids amused. There are two clubs, Fun Station and Base Station. Fun Station is aimed at 4 – 12 year olds with activities such as Pirate Mayhem and Super Hero training – they’ll be exhausted when they come back. Base Station is aimed at 13 to 17 year olds (of course they’re far too grown up to go to an organised event, aren’t they) and features such activities as beach games, shipwreck parties and pizza evenings. Either club is a sure fired winner.

If you want to break the self catering routine (and who wouldn’t) there is a great little restaurant on site serving lovely bistro style dishes. Treat yourself to something really local. The kids will be happy with the children’s menu. There is also a pizzeria and take-away which are perfect for lunch if you are stating on site.

You can swim in three pools on site, one of which is indoor, and which have water slides, chutes and a water fall. One of the pools is slightly separated and is for the use of children alone. There’s a lot of activity to choose from, most of it out doors and it includes horse riding, cycling, fishing and you can hire pedalos and canoes to take out on the lake. There is also a zip wire and a skateboard park which will be sure to impress the kids.

Around and about, you are in the middle of the Loire Valley so it’s all about pretty chateaux, lovely villages and towns that are steeped in history. Start off with nearby St Catherine de Fierbois, a really lovely village and perhaps spread your wings to the medieval town of Tours with its winding streets, coffee shops and restaurants. Perhaps worth special mention is the Futuroscope theme park, a perk dedicated to the moving image. It’s a must see, even if only for the buildings.

If you don’t mind driving long distances then Le Parc De Fierbois is well worth the trip with a quality selection of activities and facilities.

We went during the school holidays and as expected the pool was a little overcrowded. The evening entertainment is great if you speak French, if not you can always make your own entertainment.

Overall the facilities are good but it is let down by the entertainment.
