Camping Le Dauphin Reviews

Le Dauphin Holiday Park

Le Dauphin is a small, friendly campsite which makes it a perfect base for exploring the local countryside or an ideal site for a family with young children looking for a first trip abroad. There’s lots of space for the kids to spread their wings all against a backdrop of the nearby mountains and stunning countryside. The park has all the great facilities you’d expect including a friendly reception, some great swimming pools and unusually for camp sites each tent pitch has its own loo, shower and washing facilities.

Each tent has two bedrooms, one double and comes with a small kitchen area where can pull together a decent meal. The Tents also have their own barbecues and outdoors furniture which means family barbecues become the best way to feed the kids.

Facilities & Activities at Le Dauphin

Despite it being a small, quiet park there is still activity to be found. There’s a weekly kids club which is a great way for Mum and Dad to get so quality me time and there‘s a games room and children’s playground that will also keep them occupied.

Le Dauphin also has several ways to help you feed the family easily. First off there’s a supermarket where you can buy all sorts of food. Then there’s the restaurant, serving rustic, country food it will suit the most worked up appetite and finally there’s the pizza and takeaway option.

There are three swimming pools, including one for children and you can even organise scuba diving lessons. Other activities include tennis, table tennis, football and volleyball. All activities designed to keep you on the go. If you are looking for a fix of lively then get the shuttle bus to nearby Argeles. This little town has some fantastic beaches and it is one of the liveliest seaside resorts in this part of France. go if you are looking for a fix of lively. It’s a busy seaside resort and has lots going on. The nearby Chateau de Peyrepertuse is worth a visit, after all you can’t go to France and not do at least one château.

I booked through Eurocamp for a 10 day stay during July with my Husband and young son.

Upon arriving at the site I was instantly impressed, the swimming pools which were just like in the brochure and site was clean as well as spacious. The facilities and kids activities were great although my son was a little too young for most of these.

The restaurant and bar while clean were a little lacklustre, the snack meals are not of great quality although the restaurant did prove to be better. The evening entertain was good family fun although it would be nice if it wasn’t so mmmm “French”. With a mix of French, Dutch and English a little more variety would have been great.

Overall no real complaints and I would return although I think it would be nice to try somewhere new – best get reading these reviews.
