La Sirene Reviews

La Sirene Holiday Park

On Frances south west coast close to the Mediterranean border with Spain is La Serene camp site, a short 3km drive from the lovely beaches of Argeles-sur-Mer. This is a large park and as you would expect is perfect for families looking for a lively, fun packed holidays with things to keep you amused all the time. The site has a great range of amenities including a friendly reception, a laundry and a good selection of shops.

There are over 700 pitches to choose from and your accommodation is either a two or three bedroomed chalet with all of the conveniences you could hope for. There is one double bedroom and the comfortable lounge will have a further two sofa beds for larger families. The kitchen is well equipped and outside there is patio furniture and a barbecue which is perfect for summer evening dining.

Facilities & Activities at Camping la Siréne

There are a range of site run activities for the children but best of all is the stunning pool complex. There are two pools, one for children only and the larger pool is a lagoon style pool with rocks and palm trees and some of the best waterslides and chutes ever. Be careful which waterslide you choose some of them are quite fast. There is also a spa with a Jacuzzi and there are plenty of sun loungers if you have run out of energy on the slides. If you’re really game you can even have kayaking lessons or learn to dive on a recognised PADI diving course.

You have lots of food choices at La Serene starting with the supermarket where they stock lots of fresh produce (great bread and cheese) and all the staples you’ll need for self-catering meals. There’s a convenient creperie where the kids can try out this really French snack and a good restaurant where they serve a mouth watering menu of local and regional dishes. You can even dine on the terrace here if you want to. Finally, everything on the restaurant menu is available to take away – perfect for family dining back at your chalet.

La Sirene has a sports and activities list as long as your arm and the highlights include archery, horse riding and pony trekking and of course boules. If you want to spread your wings the beach is a short bus ride away and what a beach. Oceans of space and activities such as windsurfing and boat trips mean you’ll be kept amused all day long.

  1. The Kirkby Family

Like most people we researched the campsite prior to booking and while the majority of the reviews were positive the negative ones seem to stick in your mind. We decided the positive far outweighed the negative and went ahead with booking the holiday through Holiday Break.

Although it was a very long drive to La Sirene especially with two grumpy teens the trip proved to be one of our most memorable for all the right reasons.

We arrived during the evening and staff swiftly give us all the details and essentials, we were quickly settled and in need of a nap! Our accommodation was in great condition with ample space.

The pools were large and lots fun this is where the kids spent a lot of time, even I dipped in my toe – I preferred the beach which was just a short drive away.

The entertainment on the evening can sometimes drag especially if you have older teens.

Overall a very relaxing holiday with lots of fun activities to do onsite as well as off it, I would highly recommend it just take extra care if you’re driving consider a stop over.
