La Pergola Reviews

La Pergola Holiday Park

La Pergola is a stunning camp site that sits on the shores of one of Frances prettiest natural lakes, Lac De Chalain. The site has some of the best camp site facilities you’ll find in France including a helpful reception, a laundry and good restaurant and bar complex. The site is such a good site that it has been awarded La Clef Vert (The Green Key) award for its environmental credentials. With a welcoming family atmosphere this is the sort of camp site you’ll want to come back to many times over.

There are 350 pitches on site and your accommodation is either two or three bedroomed chalets with everything you need to make a real home from home. With at least one double bedroom there are a further two sofa beds in the comfortable living space. The kitchens a really well stocked with everything you need for a self-catering holiday and you have a full set of patio furniture and barbecue which allow you to make the most of the long warm summer evenings.

Facilities & Activities at La Pergola

Keeping every one occupied is simple at Le Pergola. Firstly there’s a good pool complex with three pools. One is shallow and perfect for toddlers with the other two being deeper and perfect for the family. There’s a Jacuzzi attached to one and there are plenty of sun loungers around the pool for when it all gets too much.

You can also swim from the lakeside beach. Pretty golden sand and sparking clear water make this a natural attraction for the kids and there’s plenty to keep them amused. There are canoes, pedalos and dinghies and you can also fish in the lake if you want. Less water bound you can find a host of sports activities including archery, badminton, tennis and of course boules.

Food is a dream here because there is a good little supermarket selling fresh bread as well as your more traditional self catering supplies and if you want a night off the site has a very well thought of restaurant where you can eat from a good local menu. There is also a takeaway and pizzeria for less formal nights off catering duties. The bar complex is also the location for much of the regular evening entertainment provided by the site includes darts and boules competitions, weekly discos and screening of English films.

Five Reasons to Book a Family Holiday to La Pergola

  • Lively site
  • Good evening entertainment
  • Lots of water based fun
  • Good food
  • Local attraction such as La Grottes Da Baume

The surrounding lake is just beautiful and is were we spent many of our 14 days. While we were prepared for rain it never came, the weather was very hot, I guess we got lucky – makes a nice change!

We eat take away pizzas a few times and it was nice enough, not mind blowing. The fresh bread from the shop is simply delicious and I highly recommend getting up early to grab some which is freshly bakes and still warm.

The onsite toilets and showers were clean as were the rest of the onsite facilties.

Jura is a lovely area but if you’re going with older kids it maybe a struggle entertainment wise.
