Haven Perran Sands Holiday Park

Cornwall; cream teas, endless sun and the countries best surf beaches – are just three reasons to take a holiday break at the Haven Perran Sands camp site. Located just a few miles from the pretty surfers paradise of Newquay the site is also a short walk though the dunes to miles of golden sands. Perran Sands is an idyllic place for a family holiday. It is perfect for experienced surfers who want to do nothing more than sample the Atlantic breakers that the area is so famous for. It is also perfect for beginners who want to try their hand at surfing. The park also has a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities making it perfect for families whatever type of holiday they are looking for.

Visitors who stay at Perran Sands have a wide range of accommodation to choose from. As with all Haven sites there is a good choice of two and three bed roomed caravans sleeping up to eight. They are fitted out to various standards up to and including the Prestige and Platinum range which are both a full twelve foot wide and are include many of the comforts from home such as flat screen TVs and DVD players. Some caravans have also been designed for visitors with mobility needs in mind.

For those preferring a little more space there is also a range of three types of chalets. All bedrooms are either double or twin configuration. With up to four bedrooms, these chalets provide a home from home for even the largest family.

If you are looking for a more back to nature then Perran Sands has a number of camping options that are great fun for a family holiday. Children will really love the experience of sleeping out under canvass. Not really camping, much closer to glamping, tents come in a wide range. Supertents have three bedrooms and come already pitched, safari tents are straight from Out of Africa and provide higher degree of comfort. For the best comfort try out the sites yurts, Mongolian tents that are wooden, round and sleeping up to eight people.

Facilities & Activities at Perran Sands

Without doubt, one of the best attractions at Perran Sands is the beach. Perfect for a day lazing on the sand catching the rays or equally perfect for catching a few waves of the Atlantic kind. The surf is perfect for experience surfers and beginners alike and lessons are available for beginners.

If you prefer your water entertainment closer to home then stay on the park and use either the indoor or outdoor pool. Both are heated and there is a flume for maximum children’s entertainment. Parents can relax in the newly laid out sun deck. There is also a program of organised water activities such as pool kayaking, water walkerz and aqua jets with free lessons in gaining confidence in the water for non-swimmers.

There is also a comprehensive program of sports and activities for children and the entire family. Fencing lessons, surf lessons, climbing walls, bungee jumps, pool and arcade games are just a sample of the activities on hand to keep the holiday fun at top levels. If all this activity was not enough, there is also a range of kids clubs. The clubs are free and are aimed at specific age groups making sure that no one ever gets the chance to get bored and also providing some well earned down time for Mum and Dad.

Family eating is also taken care of. There is a well stocked Supermarket on site so that you can easily buy all of the essentials you need for some memorable family meals. If you prefer to eat out, Perran Sands has a good choice of food outlets. The new Surf Bay is a new beach themed cafe-bar. It is perfect for an informal bite to eat with a drink at lunch time or in the evening and also serves a funky breakfast menu for an extra special treat.  Pap Johns Pizza joint serves exactly what the kids (and probably Dad will enjoy) freshly baked, eat in or take out, it’s your choice. It wouldn’t be a seaside holiday without fish and chips and the traditional fish and chip shop serves up sustainable sourced cod and haddock, cooked fresh to order.

If you want to venture outside of the park then Cornwall is one of the country’s prettiest counties, The rugged beaches on the Atlantic coast contrast so well with the pretty fishing villages on the south coast of the county all within easy driving distance.
