Haven Marton Mere Holiday Park

Situated in the heart of the Marton Mere nature Reserve lies the Haven Marton Mere holiday park. The nature reserve has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its rich bird population. This makes Marton Mere a perfect destination for any family who are looking for a thrills and spills holiday in Blackpool, the Vegas of the North, as well as something closer to nature.

Trips can be arranged with Wildlife Detectives from the park to show you all the secrets that the wildlife reserve has to offer. At the same time, you can still see the famous Blackpool Tower from the park as it is less than three miles away. The park has a fantastic range of modern facilities including water flumes and a show bar with a full program of day and night-time entertainment.

Visitors staying at Marton Mere have a very wide range of caravan accommodation to choose to stay in. With a total of seven types of caravans there is something to suit every budget. Standard caravans are fully equipped and offer top-notch value for a family holiday. With room to sleep six in two bedroom models and up to eight in three bedroom ones there is room for all the family. With a double and at least one twin room, additional beds are provided as sofa beds in the comfortable lounges. With a shower room and toilet and a kitchenette, you will feel as though you are staying in a real home from home.

Other types of caravans include standard plus, superior, deluxe and deluxe plus. Top of the range are the Prestige and Platinum caravans that are a full 12 feet wide offering oceans more space. Fitted out with a luxury finish they also come with upgraded kitchens and additional extras such as flat screen TGVs to make your holiday something to remember.

Facilities & Activities at Marton Mere

The family are going to love the water activities on offer at Marton Mere.  With an indoor pool that has a splash zone that is perfect for burning off the kid’s extra energy, the heated environment is perfect any time, even when the weather lets you down. On those hot summer days, the outdoor pool is the place to be. Flumes and slides are all free to Marton Mere residents and for a small charge there are plenty of exciting water based activities such as Pool Kayaking, Aqua Gliders and Turbo paddlers.

As if all that water based action was not enough Marton Mere also offers a great selection of sports activities. As well as football you can also get involved in less obvious sports such as fencing and archery; there are even coaching sessions available if you are interested. Crazy golf, roller blading and regular sports tournaments such as family rounders and touch rugby competitions all mean that the children will be kept busy from the moment the arrive.

There is also a range of Kids Clubs at Marton Mere.  Catering for all ages from tots to teens, it means that Mum and Dad get to enjoy some quality down time. Clubs feature organised sports, crafts and music based activities and there’s even a club that’s not a club. T-Co Zone is aimed at those who couldn’t possibly attend any sort of club because they are just too grown up. T-Co Zone is perfect for keeping the over 13s amused and occupied.

When it comes to feeding your family, if you are looking for a break from the kitchen then head over to the Cafe Bar and Grill. Whether it’s a full English a light lunch or a special meal for two, this is the place to be. There is also a range of take away meals available which make for the perfect end to a busy family day. If you are looking to cook, then there is an onsite shop that makes it quick and easy to stock up on food for one meal of for your hole holiday.

With all this going on you might still be looking beyond Marton Mere. You can also take a tram ride to the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool. There is also the famous Blackpool Tower and Circus as well as Blackpool Zoo. No visit to this part of the world would be complete without a visit to the world famous Blackpool Pleasure beach with its famous roller coasters and funfair attractions.
