With an abundance of woodland, lakes and nature trails Haggerston Castle is a perfect destination for families who are looking to experience the wildlife and countryside that is on offer in this stunning part of the united Kingdom. The woodland park at Haggerston castle creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that makes it perfect for summer breaks or half-term getaways in either Spring or Autumn.

Families staying at Haggerston Castle can choose between a wide range of caravans. Ranging from standard to Luxury Lodges there is a caravan to suit every family size and budget. All caravans come in either two or three bedroom models and will sleep either six or eight people comfortably. For larger families some even have an extra two sofa beds in the comfortable lounge. They all have shower and loo as well as a kitchen with all of the mod cons. Some types of caravan are also suitable for dogs. The top of the range Luxury Lodge also has an external patio which is perfect for family meals and many also had a private parking space.

Facilities & Activities at Haggerston Castle

A holiday at Haggerston Castle puts you at the heart of the Northumberland countryside. Wherever you look there are mature woodlands and pretty gardens just waiting to be explored.  No holiday would be complete without a swim and there are two indoor heated pools to choose between. Both pools have sunshine roofs which allow all the natural sunshine into the pool. There is also a waterslide to create even more fun. The pools are also home to an extensive range of activities designed to keep the children amused hour after hour. A water confidence activity is perfect for those who are a little unsure of the water and is free of charge. For a little extra there is a range of activities such as Water Walkerz, Aqua Jest, Turbo paddlers and Learn2Swim that are sure to keep the children wanting ever more pool action

There is a good range of sports activities on offer that includes tennis courts, a 9 hole golf course and a climbing wall with a rope course for abseiling. The boating lake offers pedalo hire while the youngsters can enjoy adventure golf. For children over seven there is also Bushcraft where they learn essentials for surviving in the wild such as how to collect and purify water and how to build shelters.

After a full days activity family meals can be prepared in the kitchen in your caravan, You can also visit the Mash and Barrel bar where you can have anything from a light breakfast in the morning to a lunch time snack or even a three course meal at night. No holiday would be complete without a takeaway and there are several to choose from. Traditional fish and chips, cooked the old fashioned way with only the freshest fish, Pappa Johns Pizza – sure to be a success, and Burger King are also on offer. During the summer months there are regular barbecues held as well.

Beyond the camp site lies the wild and rugged Northumberland country side. Steeped in history there are sights such as Hadrian’s Wall – designed to keep the unruly Picts out of the Roman Empire, Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh Castle are also rich in exciting historic tales. Attractions also include the Chain Bridge Honey Farm where you can learn the extraordinary story of bees and honey.
