Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Park

Families looking for the best of both holiday worlds, countryside and seaside, need look no further than Haven Burnham-on-Sea. The site has wonderful green surroundings, its own boating and fishing lakes and a few hundred yards along the promenade is the lively seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea. Even with all of the activity on offer in the park and in the immediate area, Haven Burnham-on-Sea has an air of undeniable tranquility about it.

Families choosing the stay here have a wide range of accommodation options to choose from. Starting with caravans, there are eight different caravan types ranging from Standard up to Platinum. Each caravan type has either two or three bedrooms and along with the double sofa bed in the lounge means you can sleep either six or eight people respectively. Each caravan has a comfortable lounge with a fitted kitchen and separate showers and loos. The different grades offer more space and higher spec fixtures and fittings. For those visitors with special mobility requirements there is also a range of Adapted Caravans that feature special bathroom and kitchen facilities. These caravans are also good for those guests who need to travel with their registered assistance dogs. Burnham-on-Sea also offers a number of caravans that are positioned with pretty views directly over the parks lakes.

If you want to get just that bit closer to nature you can go camping with a touch of glamour – glamping is on offer! Stay in safari themed tents to experience comfort and good looks as well. With a wide wooden veranda that is perfect for warm summer nights, two bedrooms mean you can sleep up to five people. A surprisingly well equipped, compact kitchen has a comfortable dining area with proper wooden beds (a double and a single and bunk) mean great night’s sleep. There are also 75 pitches for those who wish to visit in tourers, motor homes, tents and trailer tents.

Facilities & Activities

Somerset is a famously rural area and the beaches and holiday towns are most enchanting. When it comes to holidays it has to be about swimming for the kids and at Burnham-on-Sea you have the lovely beaches nearby. The campsite also has two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor, both heated which means you can swim whatever the weather. New for 2014 is the refurbished indoor pool with its heart stopping waterslide.

The outdoor pool has a shallow area which is perfect for the little ones. Water activities such as Turbogliderz and Learn2Swim are help regularly for a small extra charge.

As well as swimming there is a good selection of sports activity on offer. The park has its own all weather multi-sports court as well as tennis courts and boules facilities. There is also a rope course with a climbing wall and zip wire if you are looking for something a little more “white knuckle”. Coaching sessions in basketball and footie are also available and if you fancy something a little different there are also coaching sessions in archery and fencing. With Crazy Golf, coarse fishing (there are three separate lakes) and bungee trampolining there is plenty of action all day long.

Keeping the kids occupied is never easier than it is at Burnham-on-Sea. Special sessions including B-fit with Rory the Tiger, Learn2Bike and Character Sports Day are certain to be very popular. Kids Clubs aimed at 4 different age ranges mean lots of activity to suit all children and most importantly give parents some well deserved down time. The site also offers a range of entertainment, morning afternoon and evening. Morning and afternoon entertainments such as Funstar Rockstar and Project Talent add even more variety for the children while spectacular West End style shows make for perfect family entertainment in the evening.

When it comes to food, Burhnam-on-Sea has it well covered. Firstly there is an onsite SPAR convenience store which makes shopping and using the self-catering kitchens easy and well, convenient. If you want time off the cooking routine there is always the Mash and Barrel bar and restaurant where you can eat and drink at any time of the day, why not take the kids out for breakfast – how special is that. If you are looking for take away – and what holiday would be complete without it – there is also a Papa Johns Pizza on site where all pizzas are made fresh to order.
