Craig Tara Caravan Holiday Park

Set amid the beautiful Ayrshire countryside, Craig Tara offers a wonderful location for either a perfect summer holiday or a half term getaway in Spring or Autumn. Spectacular sunsets over the Isle of Arran and a gentle slope down to the beach are just some of the delights on offer at Craig Tara. Set in the heart of Robbie Burns country the entire area also has a wealth of cultural attractions.

Families staying at Craig Tara have a wide range of options that are designed to suit all pockets. If you are looking for a little more space, something that is more like a home from home then one of Craig Tara’s apartments will be just perfect. In three grades, Standard, Comfort and Super Comfort all apartments come with fully fitted kitchens, bathrooms, and have heating throughout. 2 bedrooms sleep up to six and three bedrooms up to eight by using a sofa bed in the cosy lounge.

If you are looking for something a bit more “holiday” then look at the wide range of caravans. With seven different types of caravan, ranging from Standard to Platinum you are sure to find something to suit every set of needs and every budget. Craig Tara also has a range of caravans adapted to suit those guests with mobility requirements, with lower work surfaces in kitchens and specially designed bathrooms these homes are also perfect for guests who have registered assistance dogs. Touring caravans are also welcome at Craig Tara where all 44 pitches are either electric or super electric connected.

Facilities & Activities

You will be in for plenty of fun-soaked times at Craig Tara. The site has a large, indoor, multilevel pool. The pool has flumes, slides, and water splash areas that will keep the children amused hour after hour. There is also a good range of water activities including the free Water Confidence sessions for those not yet used to water. For a small charge there are also Learn2Swim, Aqua Gliders, Aqua jets and Turbo Paddlers which are sure to keep the children occupied hour after hour.

Sports activities at Craig Tara are all about families having fun together. There are two courts, one indoor and one all-weather, outdoor court where you can play a variety of sports. You can spend time improving skills for a small charge with BBL Basketball and football coaching and for something more unusual there are also archery and fencing lessons. The park also has its own boating lake with fun swan boats which is a nice gentle way to spend the afternoon on the water, bungee trampolining laser combat, kart hire and bike hire are just some of the extensive range of activities on offer.

Food can sometimes be problem on holiday but not so at Craig Tara. There is a SPAR convenience store where you can easily get hold of the essentials you need to feed the family. The park also has a range of other food outlets including the Brigs of Ayr which is a newly refurbished bar and restaurant where you can everything from a light breakfast in the morning to a full three course meal in the evening. No holiday seaside holiday would be complete without a fish supper and Craig Tara has a traditional Chippy serving up the freshest fish and proper chips. The kids will also be pleased to see Papa John’s Pizza and Burger King as well as a Chinese Takeaway.

Summertime entertainments run all day with morning and afternoon entertainments for the children and bright dazzling shows in the evening that would not look out-of-place on a West End stage. You also manage some serious down time for Mum and Dad with the Craig Tara Kids clubs. Four different clubs all aimed a specific age ranges mean that children can pick clubs that have activities that are perfect for them and that give them a chance to mingle with children of their own age.
