Camping Dordogne Review – 5797-ADZ

In the heart of Dordogne lies our picturesque campsite. Nestling amongst the tress on an 8-acre site are up to 10 pitches with electric hook-ups and a choice of hard standing and tree shade. there is stunning views of the private 3-acre lake and River Isle, which flows serenely past creating an enchanting setting for a perfectly relaxing holiday.
You can be as laid back or energetic as you like, either lounging around our swimming pool or making full use of our tennis court.
An Ideal place to catch up on your reading, do a spot of fishing, table tennis, play boules, or even have a go at sketching.

On site Facilities :
Shower block – 2 x shower rooms ( shower, toilet and basin ) 2 x separate shower rooms with basins, 2 separate toilets. caravan waste. Utility room : washing machine, fridge/freezer, 2 x sinks, books, games, life jackets, leaflets and brochures.

LAKE
Our charming 3-acre fishing lake, the use of which is free for our guests.

RIVER
As well as a Fishing Lake we are also on the River Isle and have our own private stretch of riverbank, which is an angler’s paradise. Situated halfway between Bordeaux and Perigueux, you will find a large variety of fish such as, Tench, Pike, Bream, Zander, Catfish, Perch, Bass and Carp.
No licence is required for fishing the Lake. For the River a French licence is available from the local tackle shops, which stock all other angling equipment.

ON SITE ACCOMMODATION

There are 2 lovely Chalet on site overlooking the lake comprising of:

Chalet 1. The Squirrel (sleeps 4/5)
2 bedrooms
1 with double bed
1 with twin beds

Chalet 2. The dormouse (sleeps 2/3)
1 bedroom with double bed

Both chalets have
Shower, toilet and hand basin.
Open plan lounge with sofa bed, dining table chairs, kitchenette with fridge, gas oven and crockery etc.
Outside terrace with patio furniture for “al-fresco” dining.

All bed linen is supplied and
Gas, Water and Electric are included in the price

Local Area

Horse riding – Swimming – golf – canoeing

The Dordogne is surrounded by lakes, and many have been turned into safe, sandy beaches for swimming and sailing. Most have bars/restaurants.

St Laurent des Hommes: is our local village where you will find a butchers, bakers, grocers, newsagents, hairdressers, a post office, the historic church and not forgetting the local restaurant/bar, which is typically French and friendly.

Mussidan: is our local town just 7 km away, here you will find anything else you may need.
Supermarket’s, bars/restaurants, pleasant riverside walks a weekly market (Saturday mornings). You will also find the very helpful local tourist information office.

There are so many beautiful and interesting places to visit in this region; it’s quite impossible to list them all. Here are just a few:

Périgueux: The capital city of the Dordogne, with its gracious blend of ancient and modern. There are many historical attractions in Périgueux.
Brantôme: This charming town is an Island encircled by a loop of the river Dronne, linked to the outside world by five bridges, which explains how it got its reputation as the “Venice of Périgord.
Saint-Emilion: This medieval village is today best known for its full-bodied deep red wines and its lovely golden-hued medieval houses and monuments.
Bergerac: Like St-Emilion is famous for its wines, but is also a tobacco-growing centre and has a fascination tobacco museum.
Arcachon: Here you will find mile upon mile of unspoilt, uncrowed golden beaches.
