Budemeadows Touring Park Review – 2918-OIS
Onsite Facilities & Activities
Open all year, Budemeadows makes a quiet bolt hole during the winter months and in the summer we are busy a friendly family orientated site. Our pool is is open from Whitsun until the end of the summer holidays and we keep the temperature around 28 degrees. Grumpy Pete’s Bar and our shop are also open during this time and Grumpy Pete’s serves freshly made treas and coffees as well as more traditional bar fare – and there’s often an freshly home-made cake available too, although they don’t tend to last long.
There is a large childrens play area featuring the usual swings and slides as well as a great zip wire. For the younger children we also have a selection of play houses and climbing frames.
We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our toilets and showers and hot water is not metered.
During the main school summer holiday seasons we have take-away food available which can be eaten in the bar or beer garden if you wish.
We have site wide WiFi available which is free for those in the bar. We plan to upgrade the service to a superfast connection during 2014.
We have 145 pitches on site which come in various types:
Premier pitches feature are either 50:50 gravel hardstanding/grass or all grass and have a 16 Amp hook-up, water and grey waste drainage.
Hard-standing pitches, with a tarmac/gravel hadrdstand and grass with 16 Amp hook-up
Grass pitches with or without electric hook-up
Budemeadows Touring Park is conveiently situated close to the main A39 Atlantic Highway which offers great connections to the rest of Cornwall and the attractions of North West Devon. The quaint old fishing village of Clovelly, The Big Sheep and the Milky Way are all in easy reach to the North. To the south there are many interesting places to visit including Boscastle, scene of the dramatic floods and home to a museum of whitchcraft; Port Issac. the location of Port Wenn in “Dr Martin”; Cornwall’s Creally adventure park; Padstow with it’s pretty harbour and Rick Stein and The Eden Project near St Austell is within an hours drive (tractors permitting).
But the main attraction of Bude are the beaches at Summerleaze, Crooklets and Widemouth Bay, which is just a mile from the site. All feature great sandy beaches and are top places to surf or body board. In the summer months all are patrolled by RNLI lifeguards.
